Example:

I really am in bad shape. I need to do more exercise.

Black out

۱. بیهوش شدن

۲. قطعی برق و خاموشی

Example:

He blacked out as soon as he saw the needle.

There was a blackout in the whole city for 2 hours last night.

Back on one’s feet

دوباره سرپا شدن

Example:

My grandmother has a bad flu but she’s back on her feet again. 

pick up/catch a cold/influenza

سرما خوردن

Example:

The boy caught a cold during the weekend. 

Go under the knife

زیر تیغ جراحی رفتن

Example:

Many people go under the knife to achieve a better appearance.

One foot in the grave

پاش لب گوره

Example:

 The poor man has one foot in the grave.

To have pins and needles

خواب رفتگی یکی از اعضای بدن

Example:

I had pins and needles in my legs.

Up and about

سلامتی خود را به دست آوردن

Example:

She was kept in a hospital for a week, but she’s up and about again.

Get a black eye

کبودی و سیاهی دور چشم در اثر ضربه

Example:

The boy got a black eye when he fell in the playground. 

To throw up

بالا آوردن

Example:

The woman threw up after eating the bad shellfish. 

Run some tests

انجام آزمایش روی بیمار

Example:

The doctor decided to run some tests on the patient. 

As right as rain

سرومروگنده

Example:

I caught a cold but I will be as right as rain in a few days.  

On the mend

رو به بهبودی 

Example:

He had a rough week with the flu but he’s on the mend.   

One’s old self

دوباره سر پا شدن

Example:

She was her old self again after some sleep. 

At death’s door

در آستانه ی مرگ

Example:

The flu left me at death’s door.

Look like death warmed up

از شدت بیماری به حال مرگ افتادن

Example:

You look like death warmed up! you need to go to the hospital

Alive and kicking

زنده و سرحال

Example:

How are you after your surgery? I’m alive and kicking

New lease of life

عمر دوباره، زندگی جدید

Example:

His grandchildren have given him a new lease of life. 

There’s still life in the old dog yet

دلش زنده ست

Example:

Did you see grandpa on the dance floor? there’s still life in the old dog yet!
